Roles & Responsibilities
The Installer’s primary responsibility is to install commercial and domestic washers and dryers in apartment complex laundry rooms/apartments in addition to college residence halls, laundry mats and On-Premise Laundry facilities. The process will include refurbishing used equipment or receiving brand new machines and preparing them for delivery and installation.
Installation in a timely and professional manner is expected. Jetz Service equipment should look appealing when finished installing; therefore, using hand tools to level machines, adjust doors, etc. is necessary. The use of plumbing tools are necessary as well in order to connect water pipes to washing machines. When finished installing, machines are run through a couple of complete cycles to ensure proper operations and make any adjustments as needed.
Core Responsibilities of the Installer include (but are not limited to):
- Perform all duties as assigned by manager/supervisor
- Refurbishing used laundry equipment
- Loading and unloading laundry equipment from a box truck
- Installing laundry equipment to meet specific standards
- Accurately complete installation paperwork
- Maintain and account for all keys, tools, equipment, and materials
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic mechanical, problem solving, and oral/written communication skills. A technician must have the discipline to work with little supervision and ability to handle several projects simultaneously. Computer experience including the use of e-mail, internet, ability to navigate a parts lookup software package and general ability to read diagrams. The individual must be able to lift machines, with a dolly, lift and carry up to 100lbs without the assistance of another person and be able to stand/sit for most of an eight-hour shift. Position requires occasional overnight travel, must be able to pass a drug test, have a good driving record and dependable transportation to and from work frequent lifting, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, squatting, and driving. Education and/or Experience
Graduation from High School is required. At least one year of field experience in the laundry business or previous electrical, mechanical experience/education is preferred.
